ADHD Coaching
General
ADHD coaching is a collaborative, strengths based and forward focused partnership. I meet you where you're at to help you bridge the gap between knowing what you need to do, and actually getting it done. Together we will identify your goals, work on developing personalized strategies, and build up your ADHD toolbox.
Therapy is often about addressing the "why", whereas coaching is action oriented around the "how". We are focused on your present challenges, exploring your values and strengths, and helping you manage day-to-day life.
Coaching and therapy can work really well together, and often clients are working with a therapist and ADHD coach at the same time!
Yes! ADHD coaching and therapy can compliment each other nicely, and many of my clients are doing therapy alongside coaching.
If you are currently seeing a therapist and considering ADHD coaching, I would recommend bringing it up and getting their thoughts.
ADHD coaching requires the ability for you to be able to access future-thinking. If you are experience severe depression, it may not be the right time to start coaching.
Every session is different depending on what you need that day! Here are some examples of what we might talk about:
• Work on an action plan
• Explore how to build and maintain routines
• Troubleshoot a previous experiment that didn't go as planned
• Get clear on your priorities for the coming week(s)
I finish each session ensuring you got what you came for, are clear on your next steps and have accountability systems set up to best set you up for success!
Honestly, it really varies! Hopefully, you will start to experience some relief and change after our first session.
But in order to really experience that full-fledged life transformation, it takes time. We can't change your entire life in just one session! ADHD coaching isn't a quick fix, it's an on going process. You will likely start to experience more lightness after 6-8 weeks
What I can promise is that you'll leave each session one step closer to becoming who you want to be!
If you've tried (and failed) countless "ADHD hacks" you've seen online... it doesn't mean you've failed, you just have the experience to know there is no one-size fits all answer!
We will get clear on your values, strengths, and goals. Then, we look at your challenges, what you've tried before and why it didn't work.
Everything we do in coaching is tailored to your life, your brain, and what feels cozy for you.
